(BEDFORD) - Two people were arrested after fleeing from officers early Saturday morning.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were looking for two people who were wanted on warrants when they got a tip that those people were possibly in the area of John Williams Boulevard attempting to buy drugs.
Officer attempted to stop the vehicle they were looking for at the intersection of John William Boulevard and U Street. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle and that is when the driver and passenger jumped out and fled.
The female fled on U Street, while the male took off down the Milwaukee Trail.
"The woman then ran over the hill toward the trail and that is when an officer ordered her to stop or she would be tased," Parsley says. "She didn't stop."
She was tased and arrested.
Other offices caught the male on the trail and after a struggle he was arrested.
"One officer suffered a cut to his elbow and shoulder, but did not need medical attention," Parsley added.
Officers arrested 26-year-old Megan Lane, of Bloomfield on charges of resisting arrest by fleeing and she was wanted on two out of county warrants for failure to appear. 29-year-old Josh Flynn, of Springville, is facing charges of battery on a police officer, resisting arrest by fleeing and force and was wanted on a warrant for a parole violation.
