The people inside were trapped in the car for several hours before a Leavenworth firefighter on State Road 62 discovered the vehicle overturned and off the right side of the road about 8 p.m., west of Turkey Fork Road in what local residents call 'dead man's curve'.
57-year-old Kimberly Weaver of Bloomington was alive but trapped in the car at the bottom of a steep hill.
The Crawford County coroner says 89-year-old Mable Weaver, who was driving the vehicle, and 82-year-old husband Donald Weaver died at the scene of multiple trauma injuries.
A medical helicopter flew the Kimberly Weaver to a Louisville hospital for treatment.
Police say the rainy weather may have been a factor in the crash. Everyone in the car did have on seatbelts, and the airbags did deploy.
