Flash Flood Watch Issued For Area

Last updated on Wednesday, July 8, 2015

(UNDATED) - The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a flash flood watch for portions of Indiana, including Brown, Davies, Greene, Jackson, Lawrence, Martin, and Monroe counties.

The watch is issued from noon today through Thursday afternoon. Widespread rain amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected through Thursday afternoon. Isolated higher amounts up to 4 to 5 inches will be possible.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding.

Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.

Be prepared to have other routes to drive if flash flood warnings are issued for your area. Do not drive into flooded areas. Remember: Turn Around...Don't Drown.
