(MITCHELL) - Hoosier Uplands, under contract by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority has opened the Housing Choice Voucher Program Section 8 waiting list for Orange County to the first 200 applicants to apply.
Applications are being taken at the Hoosier Uplands office at 200 SW Court St., Suite 3, Paoli, from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1-4 p.m. daily. The application process will continue until 200 applications have been taken.
Applications need to be completed in persons. Persons needing a reasonable accommodation for a disability should call the office at (800) 827-2219, during normal business hours.
Applicants will be placed on a waiting list based on preferences claimed, then by date and time of application. As voucher assistance becomes available, applicants are selected from the waiting list.

Based on their income, program participants may pay a portion of their monthly housing costs and a housing assistance payment is issued to the landlord for the remainder of the eligible cost.
Placement on the waiting list does not guarantee that applicants will qualify for assistance.
