(BEDFORD) - This August, 1,400 Council on International Educational Exchange high school students from over 55 countries will arrive in the U.S. to participate in the CIEE USA High School Program.
CIEE is seeking a few welcoming families within the Lawrence County and surrounding areas who will be able to host CIEE exchange students arriving in August.
CIEE students will attend local high schools. They are between the ages of 15-18 years. They come fully prepared for the program with at least intermediate English, health insurance coverage, spending money, and a variety of interests and skills. The experience of studying in the U.S. is extraordinary for these international students. But the impact these students have on our schools, communities, and host families is equally important.
We are recruiting host families of all shapes and sizes; parents with or without children, single persons, single parent with children, as well as empty nesters. As a host family, you provide a bed, daily meals and a caring, supportive environment. You open your homes to new cultures and share your day-to-day lives. You will globalize your family and community, strengthen relationships with neighbors and friends, and form a lifelong bond with your student from across the globe.
If you or someone you know would be interested in hosting a CIEE exchange student, please contact CIEE Local Coordinator Jamie Roub at 812-277-5887 or email bedfordciee@gmail.com . Or visit www.ciee.org/highschool to learn more about the program.
