(NORMAN) - A Norman man was arrested Monday after he allegedly hurt an 18-month old boy at a home in the 1400 block of Norman Road.
According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Curt Durnil, the boy suffered a subdural hematoma to the brain - blood hemorrhaging behind his eyes and severe bruising all over his body.
ISP Detectives say the boy had both new and old bruising.

Detectives indicate there was new and old bruising about the child's body.
"It appeared to be a direct result of imposed acceleration and deceleration to his body," Durnil wrote in an email.
Troopers arrested 23-year-old Christopher Hawkins on a charge of battery on a minor under the age of 14 resulting in serious bodily injury.
