(BEDFORD) - Eligible Lawrence County senior citizens can receive a monthly box of food from the Hoosier Hills Food Bank through the Commodity Supplemental Food Program.
Seniors can sign up for the program at the first new monthly box distribution date on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Community Baptist Fellowship Church, 508 Fellowship Drive, Bedford.
Program eligibility requirements are:
Each food box will include: four cans vegetables, two cans fruit, one can protein, two bottles juice, two containers shelf-stable milk, two boxes cereal, two bags of pasta, one jar of peanut butter and one block of cheese.
Seniors who complete an application and bring proof of income for verification on Tuesday will receive a box at this time. The food bank staff will assist with the application process.
CSFP is a United States Department of Agriculture program administered by the Indiana State Department of Health through regional food banks including HHFB.
