(MONTGOMERY) - The Barr Reeve School Board signed a contract with teachers this week giving the teachers a 6.4 percent raise.
It includes a 1.6 percent raise for teachers at the stop of the pay scale.
The Washington Times reports Barr Reeve has seen an enrollment increase in recent years, which along with school funding formula changes has put hundreds of thousands of extra dollars into the school system.
The system also has a reputation for keeping a good handle on their finances and avoiding unnecessary spending.
