(BEDFORD) - Philip Clampitt has opened Rolf Method of Structural Integration practice in Bedford.
Born and raised in Lawrence County, Clampitt became interested in natural health, local organic foods, and natural healing modalities in his teenage years. He had suffered from upper back, neck, and shoulder pain off and on as a teenager and into adulthood due to a curvature of the spine, only finding some relief through chiropractic and massage. Only after receiving the Rolf Method of Structural Integration's posture balancing technique, did he actually get the relief he was looking for.
"I like to help people feel better," Clampitt says. "I do this work because it has helped me with back pain from a curvature of the spine that would not go away with chiropractic combined with massage. The results of this type of work is unsurpassed and I feel it is very rewarding to help people feel better.
The Rolf Method restores mobility and posture. Clampitt says the system is a way to deeply manipulate and reorganize connective tissue and fascia, rebalancing the connective tissue to free restricted movement patterns and correct postural imbalance.
"After receiving Rolf posture balancing work, which helped my back pain immensely, I was inspired to go to school for this type of work so I could help others," Clampitt added. " After school, I went to work at a sports medicine clinic in Chicago to gain clinical experience. There I gained over 3500 hours at Chicago Chiropractic and Sports Injury Centers. I worked with people from all walks of life. I was basically working with every type of ache and pain, from everyday injuries from the average person to sports injuries of professional athletes from the NHL and NBA.
Why people should do Rolf Posture Balancing sessions? To improve bad posture and relieve pain. Bad posture causes pain and this work is an effective way to correct the misalignment that is causing pain. This work also helps to improve athletic performance by making muscles fire more efficiently allowing your body to move better and recover faster from injuries.
The ultimate goal along with resetting alignment patterns in the body, is to improve movement and posture, reduce stress and create an overall sense of well being.
Clampitt's office is located at 11324 K Street in Suite 18 across from the Bedford Public Library and is open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. till 8 p.m. by appointment only. Other times then listed can be arranged, if needed. To make an appointment call 812-583-1433.
