(BEDFORD) - A fire destroyed a home in the 1800 block of State Road 54 near Springville Friday.
Firefighters from Perry and Indian Creek Volunteer Fire Departments arrived at the home after a passerby spotted the blaze at 11:54 a.m. Flames were shooting out of the roof and back of the home when firefighters arrived.
Perry VFD Chief Max Peters says the flames were more than 15-feet high and could be seen from his home six miles away.
Peters says the fire started in the northwest corner in an addition of the home, but the cause remains under investigation. Peters was not sure who owns the home but says it was for sale.
