(PEKIN) - Four Washington County teens were injured Friday night in an ATV accident near Pekin, and the driver was arrested for operating the ATV while drunk.
According to a Washington County Sheriff's Department report, 58-year-old Keith Williams was operating an ATV while pulling a wagon in a field with several children riding on it.
Officers arrived at the scene at 7:49 p.m. at 280 Shorts Corner Road in Pekin.
At some point the wagon detached and dropped suddenly to the ground, throwing the children off the wagon.
An 11-year-old girl who suffered leg injuries was flown to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville. Another 11-year-old girl was flown to Kosair Children's Hospital with a possible back injury.
A 12-year-old girl was taken to Kosair's by Washington County EMS with facial injuries.
Another 11-year-old girl was taken by Washington County EMS to Kosair's with possible back and neck injuries.
None of the children were wearing protective gear.
