(REDDINGTON) - Jackson County Water Utility has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for its customers in the Reddington area.
The advisory area includes all customers north of County Road 900N and is the result of a water main break along U.S. 31 in the Reddington area.
When water service is restored, customers are advised to boil all water vigorously for at least five minutes before drinking or using for food preparation. Boiling water intended for other uses is not necessary as long as the water is not being consumed.
The advisory will remain in effect until water company officials can confirm through testing that bacteria is not present.
