(BEDFORD) - The Jason Butler Jamboree, a fundraiser for the Butler Memorial Scholarship, will be held tonight at Bedford North Lawrence Football Stadium.
The three teams from the North Lawrence system's middle schools -- Bedford, Oolitic and Shawswick -- will convene on the big field with seventh-grade teams starting at 6 p.m., and the eighth-grade teams to follow.
The event honors the memory of former BNL football star Jason Butler, who was killed in auto accident while driving home from practice on August 10, 1991.
A minimum $3 donation is accepted as admission to tonight's jamboree.
The money raised is used to provide a BNL football senior between a $2,000 to $3,000 scholarship to attend college. The senior must exemplify Butler's core values of God, family and friends to earn the award.
