(BEDFORD) - The Lawrence County Bicentennial Committee is inviting you to help plan next year’s Indiana Bicentennial celebration.
The state will turn 200 on December 11, 2016.
The meeting will be held Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Bedford Chamber of Commerce.
The mission of Indiana's 2016 Bicentennial celebration is to honor our state's 200 years of history, but do so in a modern way that engages all 6.5 million Hoosiers and leaves a lasting legacy for future generations. The four key pillars of the Bicentennial celebration will be discussed:
1. History and Celebration
2. Youth and Education
3. Nature Conservation
4. Community Involvement
Discussion will be lead by Marla Jones, Business and Community Development Director for the City of Bedford. All Lawrence County citizens are encouraged to volunteer and participate in the planning process.
