(EAST OOLITIC) - Two people were arrested after a domestic fight in the front yard of a home in East Oolitic Wednesday afternoon.
According to Lawrence County Sheriff Mike Branham, officers were called to 42 Farmer Street just before 1:30 p.m.
When they arrived, a 21-year-old woman told police she had come to the home to visit her 3-year-old son.
"While there Tristen LaPointe, who is the father of the child, got upset with the victim and while she was holding her son he hit her on the left side of the face and bottom lip, knocking her to the ground," Sheriff Branham says.
Police say the child had no sign of injuries. The woman was taken to IU Health Hospital by ambulance for a possible collar bone injury.
The Department of Child Services also responded to the scene
23-year-old Lapointe is facing a charge of domestic battery in the presence of a minor.
While police were investigating the incident they discovered that 34-year-old Sonya Bundy, , who also lives in the home, was wanted on a warrant for failure to appear. She was also arrested and transported to jail.
