(MITCHELL) - Mitchell Community Schools board members are scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. September 15 to adopt the 2016 budget.
The advertised total budget for 2016 is $19,474,890. That's down from the $19,555.933 budget advertised last year and the $19,758,716 budget the previous year.
The general fund, which is based on student enrollment and provided by state funds, not local property taxes, is the largest part of the budget.
Mitchell Superintendent Steve Phillips says the school system is expects to receive $5,911 per student from July through December 2015.
The 2016 advertised budget carries a tax rate of $1.9961, but that is expected to drop later in the process.
