Orleans Ranks Top In Graduation Rates

(UNDATED) - Among the data samples that The Indiana Department of Education collects from the Hoosier student population, graduation rates are one of the top benchmarks of success for schools.

Here's a ranking of districts whose students passed their College and Career Readiness Assessment and graduated. This sampling does not include students who received waivers because they failed their exams.

The Indianapolis Star reports, the data displayed only reflects students who passed their state-mandated exams and earned a high school diploma for 2014.

Topping the list was Orleans Community Schools with a 98.6 percent. Bloomfield ranked third at 98.5 percent, and the Medora Community School Corporation ranked in the bottom 10 with a 66.7 percent.

  3. Bloomfield School District (Bloomfield): 98.5 percent
  4. Northwestern School Corporation (Kokomo): 98.5 percent
  5. Metropolitan School District of Boone Township (Hebron): 97.4 percent
  6. Lanesville Community School Corporation (Lanesville): 97 percent
  7. West Lafayette Community School Corporation (West Lafayette): 96.9 percent
  8. Eastern Howard School Corporation (Greentown): 96.6 percent
  9. Westfield-Washington Schools (Westfield): 96.5 percent
  10. Carmel Clay Schools (Carmel): 96.4 percent
  11. Yorktown Community Schools (Yorktown): 96.4 percent

Bottom 10 schools

  1. Cannelton City Schools (Cannelton): 52 percent
  2. Caston School Corporation (Fulton): 61.3 percent
  3. Central Noble Community School Corporation (Albion): 64.3 percent
  4. Indianapolis Public Schools (Indianapolis): 66.5 percent
  5. Medora Community School Corporation (Medora): 66.7 percent
  6. South Bend Community School Corporation (South Bend): 67.1 percent
  7. River Forest Community School Corporation (Hobart): 67.6 percent
  8. Union School Corporation (Modoc): 68.2 percent
  9. Gary Community School Corporation (Gary): 70.2 percent
  10. School City of Hammond (Hammond): 70.8 percent
