(BEDFORD) - Radius Indiana is actively seeking candidates for a President/COO, a new position in the organization, to serve alongside its CEO and Board of Directors.
The strategic addition strengthens the regional economic partnership by creating a succession plan for its top leadership, which ensures continuity for economic and workforce development initiatives.
Radius Indiana believes the President/COO position allows for a seamless transition to the CEO position should the need arise, and is the appropriate next step in the evolution for the organization. At this time, current CEO, Becky Skillman will remain in place with Radius Indiana, but, along with the Radius Board of Directors, sees the need for a long-term plan for leadership and transition.
"This is an exciting time for our region and we want to make sure that we have a system in place to continue the momentum," said Skillman. "We are seeing transformational change taking place in terms of opportunities for Southwest Central Indiana, and it is vital that we address the increasing needs and demands for Radius and its staff."
The new position will take a lead role on major initiatives, as directed by the CEO and Board of Directors, and provide strategic oversight and direction for business development including defense industry, manufacturing, workforce, education and tourism activities of the organization.
The qualified candidate must have a strong background in economic development and demonstrate a deep knowledge and understanding of rural Indiana, as well as, best practices for rural economic development. The candidate should also have a strong working knowledge of local and state government, including the Indiana General Assembly.
Radius Indiana is a regional partnership representing eight counties in Southwest Central Indiana: Crawford, Daviess, Dubois, Greene, Lawrence, Martin, Orange, and Washington Counties. Formed in 2009, Radius Indiana also serves as a point of contact in Indiana for Naval Support Activity Crane and leads regional collaboration by leveraging the diverse assets of Southwest Central Indiana to drive attraction, retention and expansion of business, thereby increasing employment and investment opportunities and quality of life within the region.
