(SCOTT CO.) - A Scottsburg man was arrested Tuesday after Indiana State Police say he injured his 3-year-old daughter.
According to ISP Detective Brian Busick of the Sellersburg ISP Post, 25-year-old James Collings is accused of causing serious injuries to the toddler.
The girl had been taken to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville last Thursday, suffering from suspicious injuries.
Police were contacted after hospital officials and the Indiana Division of Family and Children suspected the injuries were caused from child abuse.
Collings told police he would get upset with his daughter and would tie her up with zip ties.
He also told police he had hit the child with a belt buckle.
After Collings admitted to the abuse he was arrested on a Level 6 felony charge of battery causing bodily injury and taken to the Scott County Jail.
Police say the case is still under investigation.
