(BROWN CO.) - A Morgantown teen suffered severe injuries after he crashed his vehicle at the intersection of Ind. 45 and Carmel Ridge Road Tuesday morning.
According to a Brown County Sheriff's Department report, 34-year-old Jeremy Scales was traveling east on Ind. 45 near Carmel Ridge Road when a dog ran out in front of his Ford F450 flatbed dually pickup. Scales and another vehicle approaching from the opposite direction slowed almost to a stop to avoid hitting the dog.
18-year-old Austin Wagler of Morgantown was driving a Toyota Tacoma pickup behind Scales and did not notice that he had slowed and his truck collided with the back of Scales' truck.
Wagler suffered multiple broken leg bones and was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital by medical helicopter.
His passenger, a 16-year-old boy, suffered a broken arm and broken collarbone and was taken by ambulance to IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
Scales suffered whiplash and bruising, and a passenger in his truck was not hurt during the incident.
