(FREEDOM) - Three people suffered serious burns Wednesday morning after a fire at their home near Freedom.
43-year-old Dan Reynolds and his wife, 41-year-old Joy Reynolds are listed in critical condition at Eskenazi Hospital. Joy's son, 11-year-old Bailey Little, is listed in critical condition at Riley Hospital for Children.
According to the Owen County Sheriff's Department, a passer-by reported the fire just after 6 a.m. at 2609 Firecrest Lane in Freedom, located off Dunn Road.
Firefighters from Owen Valley, Franklin and Worthington Volunteer Fire Departments rushed to the scene.
The family was able to get out of the house, but not without serious injuries.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the state fire marshal's office
Also assisting at the scene was Owen County EMS, sheriff's deputies, the county rescue team and the Indiana State Police.
