(BEDFORD) - A woman and her passenger were injured after the tire of her moped got stuck in the railroad tracks at J and 15th streets Thursday morning.
According to a Bedford Police report, 44-year-old Kathy Hatchett of Bedford told police she was on J Street when the front tire of her 2015 Bentelli Breeze Scooter got caught in the railroad tracks that run down the center of J Street.
Hatchett told police that she lost control of the vehicle resulting in her 10-year-old step-daughter being thrown from the back of the scooter. Fish was wearing a helmet.
Both were treated at the scene by an IU Health Hospital ambulance crew and refused to be transported to the hospital.
