(SULLIVAN CO.) - The Indiana Department of Transportation will provide temporary lane restrictions on U.S. 41 near Shelburn beginning Monday, August 10 while railroad crews work on a crossing.
Crews will begin working on the northbound lanes of U.S. 41 from State Road 48 to State Road 246 on August 10 and work is expected to last about a week.
Work will begin on the southbound lanes as soon as work is finished on the northbound side. During the project, traffic will be reduced to one lane in either direction.
Crossovers will be used to route northbound traffic onto the southbound side during the first phase of work, and southbound traffic onto the northbound side during the second phase.
Restrictions will be in place around the clock.
INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews. For construction updates and traffic alerts, follow INDOT on Facebook at www.facebook.com/INDOTVincennesDistrict and Twitter at www.twitter.com/INDOTSouthwest, or access INDOT's TrafficWise website at http://indot.carsprogram.org.
