(VALLONIA) - A Valloina couple is now facing a charge of animal neglect after officials seized 14 dogs on July 24.
Washington County officers arrested 55-year-old Donald Mauldin and his wife 55-year-old Patricia.
They were booked into the Washington County Jail on August 3.
According to state Veterinarian Dr. Jodi Lovejoy, the dogs were in immediate jeopardy when taken and the couple showed complete disregard for the health and well-being of their outside dogs.
One of the reasons for Lovejoy's concern was Patricia Maudlin's attitude toward the dogs' veterinary care.
