Food stands will also be set up, including the popular "Cobblers Bench" serving their famous homemade cobblers and ice-cream. Great White Smoke will be serving barbecue by Dave White and the Owensburg Taylor Township Fire Department will have hot dogs, chips, and drinks.
Live music can also be enjoyed throughout the entire day, beginning with High Sierra from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Taking the stage next will be the Eastern Greene School Orchestra until 2 p.m., followed by the Hole in the Wall Gang until 4 p.m. The McDonald Brothers will perform from 4:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. and Night Riders follow. At 6 p.m, Buddy Pate and the City Lights Band will play on behalf of the Owensburg/Jackson Township Fire Department.
The annual parade will kick off at 2 p.m. Don Hatfield was named as this year's Grand Marshal.
Don Hatfield is from Liberal, Kansas. His great-great-great grandfather, Emanuel Hatfield, is the founder of Owensburg and is the reason behind the name of the Emanuel Hatfield Museum.
Emanuel Hatfield came to Indiana in 1831 and settled in Greene County a year later with his family because he was intrigued by the spacious hunting territory Greene County offered.
The museum was named in his honor and features memorabilia that captures the unique history of Owensburg, including some artifacts from the feuding Hatfield relatives that settled the community 180 years ago.
The museum will also be open to the public throughout the entire duration of Founder's Day and will have books and various other items for sale.
There will be an ongoing silent auction throughout the day. Many items will be raffled off, including a handmade quilt by Alice Mitchel. The Owensburg Jackson Township Fire Department will also raffle off several items, such as a Remington 870, Pampered Chef RockCroc Dinner Set, Pampered Chef Contemporary Classics Stoneware Set, Handmade Cowboy Cook Center (made by a local Blacksmith), along with other smaller items. A pie competition will begin at 3 p.m.
A full list of pre-confirmed vendors includes: Scentsy; Homemade Candies; Homemade Crafts; Pampered Chef; Mary Kay; Old Owensburg Calendars; Handmade Jewelry; Blacksmith Demos (on behalf of the fire department); Jamberry; Magnolia and Vine; and Younique.
