(BLOOMINGTON) - The Bloomington Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Commission (BPSC) announces that four projects have received funding through the Local-Motion Grant Program.
In all, the BPSC received seven applications groups interested in seeking a total of $2,000 that was made available through the grant program.
The grant program is open to individuals, teams, local businesses, and nonprofit organizations (including neighborhood groups) wanting to advance bicycle and/or pedestrian mobility for area residents.
Mitch Rice, chair of the BPSC, was pleased with the variety and scope of the applications - "The BPSC is pleased to be able to support these four projects, which we hope will result in positive returns that far outweigh these investments."
The following four organizations were awarded $500 each for this year's grant round:
The Local-Motion Grant Program is another effort by the City to improve the transportation options available to its citizens. The next cycle of applications for the Local-Motion Grant Program will be announced in the Spring 2016.
