(BLOOMFIELD) - The Bloomfield Town Council approved the purchase of digital radios for the fire department; however, due to budgetary constraints, the purchase will be paid for in 2016.
According to Bloomfield Fire Department Chief Lee Baker, the department must go digital by the end of the year.
The department needs to convert to digital radios in order to communicate with other agencies, such as the Greene County Sheriff's Department.
The radios, which are the same as the police department's, will cost approximately $17,000.
