(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was arrested after police found child pornography on his phone and in his Dropbox account, a service that stores computer files online.
Police arrested 36-year-old Adam Michael Bennett at a home in the 600 block of North Monroe Street Tuesday evening.
According to Bloomington Police Capt. Joe Qualters, police received a tip in May from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that child pornography had been uploaded to a Google Plus account linked to Bennett's email address.
Bennett told police his email address, but said he didn't own a computer.
Police obtained a search warrant in July for Bennett's phone and found two videos depicting child pornography. Investigators then got a search warrant for his Dropbox account. In his Dropbox account, they found 4,660 photographs, many involving child pornography.
Qualters says a "video folder" contained 187 adult and child pornography. 10 zip files containing porn were also discovered.
Bennett was booked into the Monroe County Jail on a preliminary felony charge of possession of child pornography.
