(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington resident Robert Hall officially announced his candidacy for Congress on social media. Accompanied with the launch of a new webpage RobertHallforCongress.com, the announcement follows the Spring endorsement of Hall by grassroots group Hoosiers for a Conservative 9th.
Hall is entering a crowded Republican race for the seat currently held by Rep. Todd Young, R-9th district. State Sen. Erin Houchin, R-Salem; State Sen. Brent Waltz, R-Greenwood; and Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller, another Republican, are also running for the seat.
Monroe County Council member Shelli
Yoder is the only Democrat
currently in the race.
Drawing on a lifetime of experience in fighting for conservative causes Hall said "It's time for a true conservative to get in the race. Hoosiers deserve a Congressman who will take their values to Washington." Unlike other career politicians in the race, Robert is a true conservative and has shown it in bold ways.
"I'm the only candidate who will vote against John Boehner on day one, oppose raising the debt limit, oppose Omnibus spending bills and continuing resolutions, fight for every child's right to life and demand constitutional amendments for term limits and balanced budgets," Hall said.
Having spent over 30 years in the private sector as a very successful manufacturing executive and consultant, Hall is ready to bring that same discipline to Washington. "It's time to balance budgets, cut spending and get government out of the way of hardworking Hoosiers and bring back manufacturing jobs lost to China and Mexico," Hall said.
