(CAMPBELLSBURG) - A Campbellsburg man died after he crashed his car in Washington County early Thursday morning.
According to Washington County Sheriff's Department report, the accident happened at 12:15 a.m. on Sparksville Crossing.
When police and Washington County EMS and Jefferson Townships first responders arrived they found the driver, 41-year-old Douglas Gibbons, dead inside his vehicle.
According to police Gibbons was traveling at the intersection of Sparksville Crossing and Sparksville Road when he failed to stop, plowing through the intersection and into an embankment.
The accident is still under investigation, but police believe speed was a factor in the crash.
