(BLOOMINGTON) - The City of Bloomington will commemorate the tragic events of 9/11 with a ceremony on Friday, September 11, at 9 a.m. at Showers Plaza outside City Hall, 401 N. Morton St.
The event is a solemn recognition of the commitment and sacrifices made by public safety officers in Bloomington and around the nation. Speakers will include Mayor Mark Kruzan, Reverend Harold Godsey, Tom Hanify, President of the Metropolitan Professional Firefighters Union of Indiana and Bob Loviscek, President of the Bloomington Metropolitan Professional Firefighters Local 586.
The ceremony will include the laying of a wreath remembering all of those who lost their lives on such a tragic day.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend. In the event of rain, the ceremony will take place inside City Hall in Council Chambers.
