(MONROE CO.) - Indiana Conservation Officers began searching for two lost hikers last night around 9 p.m.
Officers were looking for two Indiana University students, 19-year-old Connor Richardson and 19-year-old Kenzie Denton, both of Avon.
They had called for help when they realized they were off the trail and were not going to make it back to Blackwell Horse Camp on Hoosier National Forest before dark.
The pair had hiked to Patton Cave but became disoriented and lost on the return trip.
Officers searched through the night, but suspended the search at approximately 3:30 a.m.
At daybreak the search was renewed with fresh officers, as well as staff from the Hoosier National Forest.
Personnel searched on foot, by horseback and by boat.
The pair were located on the Grubb Ridge Trail Loop near Patton Cave at approximately 11:30 a.m.. Both were uninjured and glad to be back.
