(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana Conservation Officers recovered an Indianapolis man from the water at Monroe Reservoir this evening.
At approximately 5:57 p.m. officers were called to the area of Allen's Creek on Monroe Reservoir for a person that had gone under the water and could not be found.
Indiana Conservation Officers along with the Monroe County Dive Team arrived on scene and began searching for the the man utilizing sonar and divers.
At approximately 7 p.m.,30-year-old Scott Robinson was located by Monroe County divers and immediately transported to IU Health Bloomington where he later died.The exact cause of death will not be determined until the completion of a post-mortem examination.
Officers have learned from witness statements that Robinson was boarding a pontoon boat from the water, when he for some unknown reason, fell back into the water and did not surface. It is unsure at this time if a pre-existing medical condition came into play.
This is an ongoing investigation and more information will be released once it is obtained.
Indiana Conservation Officers were assisted on the scene by Bloomington Police Department, Monroe County Dive Team, Perry-Clear Creek Fire, Monroe County Sheriff's Department and IU Health EMS.
