(MARTINSVILLE) - Indiana State Police troopers arrested two men Monday after they conducted a traffic stop in the area of 410 Grand Valley Boulevard in Martinsville.
After the vehicle was stopped, the driver, Jeremiah Moore, fled the scene but was quickly apprehended.
Troopers says Moore had more than 25 grams of heroin in his possession.
Troopers also discovered digital scales that were covered with powder heroin residue. They also found a loaded .40-caliber Glock handgun inside the vehicle.
Both Moore and his passenger, Jevron Smith-Bates, were arrested on a Level 2 felony charge of conspiracy to deal a narcotic drug (heroin) over 10 grams of with a firearm and a Level 3 felony of possession of a narcotic drug (heroin) over 10 grams with a firearm.
Assisting in the investigation was Martinsville Police Department and the Morgan County Sheriff's Office.
