(BEDFORD) - The Lawrence County Soil and Water Conservation District is seeking public input on the use and conservation of natural resources in the area.
The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m., Monday, at the USDA Service Center, 1919 Steven Ave.
The resource concern survey will evaluate the current conditions of Lawrence County's natural resources and dominant land uses, identifying natural resource concerns and goals, and prioritize areas where conservation efforts are needed. The assessment will become the foundation on which future plans and projects will be based.
The Lawrence County Soil and Water Conservation District was created by state law in 1957 with the mission to protect and manage the natural resources of Lawrence County. It serves as a local coordinator of technical and financial assistance for natural resource problems from all levels of government to private land owners and users.
For those unable to attend the meeting, surveys are available from LCSWCD that can be filled out and returned to include additional input.
For more information, contact the LCSWCD at (812) 279-8117 or stop by at 1919 Steven Ave., Bedford.
