(WASHINGTON) - A Washington Man was sentenced to 7 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to child molestation charges.
34-year-old Tyree A. Robinson was initially arrested on one felony count and one misdemeanor count of domestic battery resulting in bodily injury after Robinson had battered his then girlfriend. Officers arrested Robinson after they found him hiding in the trunk of a car on July 30, 2012.
A week later, while out on bail, Robinson was charged with a felony count of strangulation and domestic battery, after Robinson showed up at his girlfriend's home and choked her.
Then on August 14, 2012, a petition to revoke suspended sentence was filed against Robinson. The petition to revoke documents, say Robinson had "significant criminal history which includes outstanding warrants in Florida and prior arrests for possession of marijuana, theft, sale of drugs, habitual traffic violator, possession of cocaine, domestic battery, tampering with victims/witness, strangulation, criminal mischief, interfering with arrests, obstruction of justice, unlawful detention and assault."
The documents also stated that law enforcement felt he was a threat to the victim.
Then three county of child molesting were filed against Robinson on September 10. Police say Robinson had allegedly had inappropriate contact with a then 5-year-old female, by touching her private parts on more than one occasion.
