(MARTIN CO.) - The Martin County Commissioners have declared an emergency and issued a burn ban until further notice.
Effective immediately, campfires and other recreational fires are banned, unless enclosed in a fire ring with dimensions of 23 inches in diameter and six inches high or higher.
Open burning of any kind is banned using conventional fuel such as wood and combustible matter, with the exception of grills fueled by charcoal briquettes or propane.
The burning of debris is banned, such as timber or vegetation, including building construction or storm debris.
The use of burn barrels for any open burning at residential structures is also banned.
