At approximately 12:13 a.m. Knox County Dispatch was advised of an ATV accident that occurred on private property near Nicholson Road and Parish Road Sunday.
According to police, 21-year-old Benjamin Taylor of Carlisle was operating a Polaris Razor side-by-side ATV with 18-year-old Taylor Ashcraft of Sullivan as his passenger. Benjamin Taylor lost control and both men were ejected from the vehicle. Ashcraft suffered minor injuries; Benjamin Taylor was pinned underneath the ATV and was flown to St. Mary's hospital for neck injuries.
Police say neither man was wearing safety gear, and alcohol may have been a contributing factor.

Indiana Conservation Officers strongly encourage the use of safety equipment such as helmets, gloves, riding boots and chest protectors when operating an ATV.
