(BEDFORD) - Three Bedford residents were arrested Tuesday after a Bedford Police officer stopped the vehicle they were just after 5 p.m. at the intersection of 16th Street and Plaza Drive.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, the vehicle was stopped after the officer noticed the driver was 31-year-old John Luttrell.

"The officer knew Mr. Luttrell did not have a valid driver's license," Parsley says. "But before the vehicle got stopped, the officer noticed the occupants moving around in the vehicle making the officer believe they were attempting to hide something."

Once the vehicle was stopped the officer asked all three occupants to exit the vehicle.

Luttrell then gave the officer consent to search it and that is when the officers found meth, heroin and drug paraphernalia.

Police arrested Luttrell, of 1925 Central Ave., on charges of maintaining a common nuisance and driving while never licensed.
