(BEDFORD) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an injury ATV accident that happened Sunday 6:45 p.m. in the 2000 block of Tunnelton Road.
According to a Department of Natural Resources report, 30-year-old Jeremy Morris of Bedford was driving a Suzuki 400 ATV on Tunnelton Road when the right front wheel of the ATV went off the roadway and caused the ATV to flip, ejecting Morris and his passenger, 14-year-old Alyssa Addison, from the vehicle.
Both were transported by ambulance to IU Health in Bedford. Neither was wearing protective equipment at the time of the accident.
It is not yet known if alcohol contributed to the crash.
Also responding on scene were the Lawrence County Police, Shawswick Volunteer Fire Department first responders and an IU Health and Seals Ambulance.
Indiana Conservation Officers strongly urge riders to always wear a helmet and to have necessary safety equipment and training when operating an ATV to prevent or reduce possible injury.
The investigation is ongoing.
