Greene County General Hospital Board Approves 3 Percent Increase To Billable Items

Last updated on Friday, October 23, 2015

(LINTON) - Members of the Greene County General Hospital Board of Trustees approved a three percent increase to the hospital’s chargemaster.

A chargemaster is a comprehensive listing of items billable to a hospital patient or a patient's health insurance provider.

Chief Financial Officer April Settles says the increase will not be a blanket increase; however, she will meet with a representative from Professional Research Consultants, Inc. to review each individual charge.

Settles noted that prior to taking the position of chief financial officer in 2013, the organization typically approved blanket increases of approximately eight percent each year.

Settles presented a financial report which included payroll of $916,660 and $1.6 million in claims for the month of September.

Settles credited outpatient services, especially radiology, physical therapy and occupational therapy, for bringing in additional revenue thus far this year.
