(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was arrested after he allegedly fired two rounds from a handgun in his apartment Sunday morning.
Police say no one was injured, but the rounds caused damage to an adjacent apartment.
Police arrested 22-year-old Jeriko Sullivan on a felony charge of criminal recklessness.
Police were called at 4 a.m. Sunday after a man reported a loud noise and crying then finding a bullet hole in his bathroom from a resident at the apartment building 1200 block of West Adams Circle.
According to Bloomington Police Capt. Joe Qualters, when police arrived they saw Sullivan rolling around on the floor of his apartment through a window. They also noticed a handgun on the couch.
According to Qualters, Sullivan fired two shots from a 9-mm handgun. The first bullet traveled into his neighbor's downstairs bathroom and another shot went into the ceiling, just above a breakfast bar.
Police took two guns from Sullivan's apartment, the 9-mm and a shotgun.
Sullivan told police he fired the gun because he was upset over relationship issues. At first police believed Sullivan had been injured because it appeared he had blood on his clothing. However police soon discovered the blood was fake and part of Sullivan's Halloween costume.
Sullivan was taken to a local hospital for an evaluation before being transported to jail.
