(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington man was arrested after he allegedly attacked a man and stole his wallet and cellphone Sunday afternoon.
Police arrested 23-year-old William Alvin "Texas" Stephen on a felony charge of robbery.
According to Bloomington Police Capt. Joe Qualter, the male victim told police that two men he knew pulled a sweater over his head, punched him and then stole his cellphone and wallet while he was at the Circle K gas station in the 500 block of East Third Street.
Police say the man did not require medical attention following the incident.
Police found Stephens at Peoples Park.
Stephens told police he saw the man get punched in the face, but claimed he was not involved and that a woman could provide him an alibi. Police spoke to that woman, but she couldn't provide an alibi for Stephens.
The victim's wallet turned up later at a restaurant on Indiana Avenue. Police say the cash was missing.
