(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police are looking for the person or persons who allegedly attempted to use counterfeit money to purchase gas and items at Krogers in the 500 block South Liberty Drive and at the gas pumps at Kroger fuel center in the 3700 block of West Third Street.
At 3:33 p.m. a Kroger employee reported a man attempted to pay for gasoline with a counterfeit bill. That incident happened at 3:33 p.m.
Then at 9 p.m. Thursday there was a report from a Kroger employee that someone attempted to use a counterfeit $100 to purchase items at the store on South Liberty Drive.
Police are asking merchants to be vigilant this holiday season and to report any incidents. Anyone with information about the counterfeit activity is asked to call police immediately.
