(DAVIESS CO.) - The North Daviess Future Farmers of America crops and forestry teams will be advancing to the state finals to be held at Purdue University on December 12.
This will make the 49th and 50th judging teams in coach Stuckey's career at North Daviess that has advanced to the state finals with 29 of those teams being in the crops area.
The North Daviess crops teams placed first and eighth in the district out of 13 teams. The district contests were held at the Knox County fairgrounds on November 10.
Abby Clifford had the top score of all students at the contest, Garrett Pickett placing third in the district, Megan Nowling placing seventh and Abby Neukam was ninth highest overall. Members on the team that placed eighth are Brittany Myers, Emily Hart and Emily Remsburg.
The forestry team placed third in the district out of 21 teams and will also advance to state competition. Jessa Newby placed 10th in the district, Carrie Winklepleck placing 11th overall, Deion Archer placing 17th and Cole Roark placing 27th out of 80 contestants.
Other members from North Daviess in the forestry competition are Bryce Knepp and Trevor Gingerich.
