(SPRINGVILLE) - Lawrence County police are asking for the public’s help after a fire on Thanksgiving Day consumed a home in Springville.
According to Perry Volunteer Fire Chief Max Peters, no one lived at the mobile home at 1360 Popcorn Road and there was no electricity, heat or running water at the home.
The name of the owner is not being released at this time due to the investigation.
A neighbor reported the blaze at 5:53 p.m. and firefighters from Perry and Marshall VFD's arrived a short time later to find the home engulfed in flames.
The fire was knocked down quickly, but was destroyed.
Firefighters were on the scene until after 3 a.m. Friday, while the state fire marshal investigated the possible cause and gathered evidence.
Anyone with information about the blaze is asked to call the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department or the State Fire Marshal's office.
