(BEDFORD) - Santa and Mrs. Claus are coming to Bedford, but before they arrive children can write Santa with Christmas their Christmas wishes.
The deadline to submit letters to Santa is December 1.
The letters and accompanying forms can be mailed to: Bedford Parks Department, 1625 Q St. in Bedford, or faxed to (812) 275-1652 or emailed to amcintyre@bedford.in.us.
Forms also are available at the parks office.
Children will then receive a letter from Santa with his special North Police postmark.
The Parks Department popular Santa House and holiday bazaar is December 10-12 from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Otis Park.
Last year more than 1,300 rode in the lighted-sleigh to the shelter house atop of Otis Park's No. 13 green to visit with Santa and hear Mrs. Clause read the Night Before Christmas. The cost is $2 per person, children 5 and under are free.
Before boarding the sleigh, families can feast on cookies and hot cocoa and color pictures for Santa or watch Christmas movies while they wait.
Booth space is still available for the holiday bazaar. The cost is $30 per space.
And Santa doesn't want to leave out his 4-legged friends.
The Santa Paws program is slated for December 7-8 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Wilson Park. Pets can be photographed with Santa for $15 and all proceeds go to the White River Humane Society.
