(SEYMOUR) - A Seymour man suffered serious injuries after he crashed his car on U.S. 50 Near County Avenue, east of Seymour.
According to an Indiana State Police report, the accident happened around 9:45 a.m. this morning.
Police say, 57-year-old Mikel Williams was traveling west on U.S. 50 near County Avenue (County Road 560 North) when for an unknow reason Williams 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis went off the north side of the road. After leaving the roadway, the vehicle went down an embankment and struck a tree head on.
Williams was trapped inside the car and was freed by Seymour Fire Department first responders.
Williams, who suffered serious internal injuries, was then flown by medical helicopter to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing.
