(OOLITIC) - A Springville teen was injured after the 2004 Jeep Liberty she was driving rolled on Ind. 37 near Oolitic Tuesday night.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 17-year-old Keelie Sims was traveling north on Ind. 37 when the vehicle in front of her hit their brakes. She swerved to the left to miss the vehicle and then over corrected causing the vehicle to go off the right side of the road, struck a guardrail and rolled, with the vehicle stopping on the driver's side in the roadway.
Witnesses say Sims was traveling at a high-rate of speed and passing several vehicles.
Sims complained of pain to her knee and lower leg. Her passenger 2-year-old Lillie Holmes was not injured but was take to IU Health Hospital for a medical evaluation.
Assisting at the scene was an Seals ambulance crew and Oolitic and Shawswick Volunteer Fire Departments
