(BLOOMINGTON) - Three men were arrested after they allegedly attempted to rob a Circle K on Kirkwood Avenue and Rogers Street Saturday morning.
The attempted robbery was reported at 4:46 a.m.
According to Bloomington Police Sgt. Joe Crider, the attempted robbery was reported at 4:46 a.m.
According to police, a man entered the store and handed the clerk a note demanding money. The clerk refused to give the man the money. The man then fled the business. The clerk went outside and saw the man and two others run away.
Police stopped two of the men near IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Sgt. Crider says that police used video surveillance footage and the clerk's description to identify those involved in the attempted robbery.
Police arrested 21-year-old Corey Rutledge and 19-year-old Java Patton, who told police they had planned to rob the gas station with 31-year-old Donald Anderson. Anderson was arrested a short time later.
Anderson was taken to the Morgan County Jail after police discovered he was wanted in connection with a stolen vehicle.
Rutledge and Patton were arrested on charges of robbery. Patton is also facing a charge of illegal consumption. Charges are pending against Anderson.
